NanoTweezer - Single nanoparticle analysis with near field photonics

Optofluidic’s NanoTweezer enables the analysis of individual particles from only a few nanometers to multiple micrometers. Particles in a liquid are imaged by a CCD camera inside a microscope, thus becoming accessible for analysis. NanoTweezer is based on a novel waveguide technology that uses a laser to trap (nano-) particles in the evanescent field on the surface of the waveguide. The measured scattered light then allows conclusions on the interactions between the individual particles and the optical waveguide.
